Legions Lacrosse

Earn your place in Legions.

A development program for serious lacrosse athletes: verified testing, a plan built for each athlete, and all of Legions training together. You do not have to be the best to start. You have to be willing to be measured.

For boys in grades 6 through 12, the classes of 2027 to 2033.

The Call: where growth is measured.
Nothing counts until a coach has verified it.

Every Legionnaire (an athlete in Legions) starts at a Call. It opens with a morning of testing: the full battery of speed, power, strength, agility and stick-skill tests, every result verified by a coach on the spot and placed against the athlete's own class (graduation year).

A Call runs one or two days. After the testing the groups go to work: lacrosse and strength and conditioning, two to three sessions a day, with several high-level coaches on the field and a handful whose only job is to watch the athletes. This is not a skills clinic and it is not a conditioning camp. It is where iron sharpens iron. Every athlete in Legions is battling his way up the same board, and they train together to do it.

We hold six to eight Calls a year, in the Northeast, Florida and on the West Coast, so every athlete has Calls close to home. No family is expected at all of them: two or three Calls a year is what an athlete needs to show his progress. Every Call beyond that is a bonus, more days training with the best in Legions.

A Legionnaire's year

The Call sets the plan, the report checks it, and the next Call answers.

I

The Call

A morning of testing, verified on the spot, then one or two days of lacrosse and strength and conditioning with the groups.

II

The Plan

Strength and conditioning on one track, lacrosse skills on the other, built from his weakest verified results and rebuilt every four weeks from what he logs and what his readings show.

III

The Report

Coaches watch the whole picture, with software flagging who needs attention. Every month the family gets a report card: what moved, what did not, and the one thing to fix next.

Between Calls he logs his work and his sleep in the app. A wearable can feed in his sleep, recovery and strain on its own; body composition scans, film and GPS data from practice land in the same profile.

What we measure

The Call battery uses the same tests college lacrosse programs run, so a Legionnaire walks into those situations already knowing his numbers.

At the Call

Height, weight, wingspan, body composition
Size and composition alongside performance
10, 20 and 40-yard sprints, flying 10
Acceleration and top speed
5-10-5 shuttle
Braking, turning and accelerating again
Vertical jump, broad jump, triple broad jump
Lower-body power
Rotational med ball throw, max push-ups
Rotational power and upper-body strength
Shot speed and accuracy, wall ball, passing, dodge course, ground balls, face-offs, save percentage
Lacrosse skill, measured instead of eyeballed
Single-leg jumps, hamstring, ankle and hip screen
Left-right balance and injury risk

Between Calls

The inputs a family can add.

A wearable
Sleep, recovery, heart rate variability, resting heart rate and daily strain
A GPS unit worn in practice
Top speed, distance, high-speed running, accelerations and decelerations, and workload
A body composition scan
Body fat, muscle mass, water, bone and visceral fat, limb by limb

Three tiers, earned at the Call

Every athlete enters as a Nova. Movement between tiers is earned at the Call, never given, and every athlete in Legions is battling his way up the same board.

Nova

The first year: baseline numbers, a first plan, and the habit of logging the work.

Earns his place on the leaderboards.

Ferro

Proven after multiple Calls. Verified gains, and a place on the Pro Board if the family wants it.

Earns the Legions letterman jacket, with patches and pins earned at Calls.

Invicta

The standard the rest of Legions is measured against. Recruiting-ready numbers and film.

Earns the jacket, and a numbered Legions gold ring.

The Colosseum

The leaderboards every Legionnaire sees

The Colosseum is the set of leaderboards inside the app. Every Legionnaire sees them and where he stands. They rank effort between Calls: workouts logged, streaks, wall ball, improvement since the last Call. They never show test numbers. It runs on effort, so a Nova in his first month can top a board by outworking an Invicta.

  • Boards. Effort, improvement since the last Call, streaks, wall ball, and a team board that scores each club's athletes per head.
  • Challenges. A target and a clock: a month of wall ball, a sprint block, a team total.
  • Badges. Earned, never handed out: Answered the Call, Seven Straight, Iron Month, Wall of a Thousand, Faster, Higher, Most Improved.
  • Legion of the Week. Named by the coaches, announced to all of Legions.

The Colosseum boards show names and counts, never test numbers. The numbers have their own board.

The Pro Board

Numbers in public, by choice

The Pro Board is where verified Call results go public with real numbers: the 40, the vertical, the shuttle, ranked across Legions. A family turns it on, test by test, and the athlete (13 and up) chooses which of his results show; any test can be switched off at any time and comes down immediately. Nothing reaches the Pro Board that a coach did not verify.

For a Ferro or an Invicta it is a public record a college coach can check. For a Nova it is the board he is chasing.

What families get

For club and school programs

Legions is not a team and plays no games. It runs alongside a Legionnaire's club and school seasons and makes him better at both. With a family's permission, his club or school coach can follow his profile: the verified numbers, the plan, the report card. College coaches can view a profile too, governed by the family's profile settings, the athlete's age and his college commitments.

The next Call is November 2026.

Date and location will be announced soon. Six to eight Calls a year in the Northeast, Florida and on the West Coast. Applying takes about ten minutes; the coaches review every application, and a place in Legions is earned, not given. Once he is selected we confirm his first Call date. Testing takes a morning, then training, where iron sharpens iron.
